Safeguarding Children – Level 1

An Introduction to Safeguarding.

As an e-learning module you can complete this training in convenient stages and revisit whenever you wish. The system will record your progress throughout. It is estimated that this module will take approximately 2-3 hours to complete (depending on learning speed). To gain access to this training go to our self-registration page at On completion of this course you will be able to download a Virtual College certificate. If you belong to a Staffordshire charity or voluntary group, or are a volunteer it is free. If this does not apply some of our modules are free to anyone in Staffordshire - please check on the module you are interested in.

  • Understand the difference between a youth worker and a youth leader
  • State the key elements of the role of a volunteer youth leader
  • Identify the four ‘cornerstones’ of youth work and state why they are important
  • Better understand the part they play within their own organisation
  • Identifying moral and ethic boundaries
